Zakir Naik, Founder of Islamic Research Foundation has been admiring Osama bin Laden and claiming that if Islam had certainly wanted, then the 80percent population of Indian would not have remained Hindus, said the government.
After two days of issued gazette notification, the government has decided to ban on the Islamic Research Foundation under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, the home ministry said. Naik has accused of encouraging and assisting its followers to promote disharmony and hatred on grounds of religion. He has been also provoking to his followers to join IS, the most wanted group of people.
Considering several evidences, government decided to ban on IRF
“The centre government has received information such as statements and speeches made by Zakir Naik, the founder of IRF in which he is saying objectionable remarks because he has been extolling the known terrorist Osama bin Laden, proclaiming that ever Muslim should be a terrorist and claiming if Islam had indeed wanted, then 80 percent of population would not have been remained Hindus because Muslim could have converted if we wanted by sword, justifying objectionable comments posting on social media against Hindu Goddesses and suicide bombings. He also claimed that Golden Temple may not be as sacred as Mecca and Medina said in his statement” the notification said.
On the other hand, Home Ministry said while considering his several speeches and statements, Naik has been promoting hatred and enmity among Muslim Youths and provoking them to join terrorists’ groups like ISIS, not even in India but also in abroad.

Many People joined IS after Zakir’s inflammatory statements
Ministry said such conflict-ridden ideology is against India’s pluralistic and secular structure and it may be viewed as causing disaffection against India and so making it unlawful activities.
Interestingly, a most terrorist who had arrested during different terrorist attack incidents revealed that they were inspired by Zakir Naik’s fundamentalist statements, which indicates the insurgent nature of his preaching and speeches,” the notification issued by Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry Sudhir Kumar Saxena said.
Zakir Naik is provoking Muslim Youth to commit terrorist acts
The central government is of the opinion that the anti-activities of the IRF and its president Zakir Naik are highly insurgent in nature and adverse to the maintenance of harmony between various religious communities, Home Ministry notification said.
“If necessary steps are not taken, then there is every possibility of many youths being motivated to commit terrorist acts leading to promote hostility between different religious communities”.
The Central government considering to all the evidence said it is essential to declare the Islamic Research Foundation as an unlawful association with immediate effect
NIA conducted raids on Zakir’s offices
National Investigative agency (NIA) officials and teams of Mumbai Police have started conducting raids at Zakir’s offices. On Saturday NIA conducted raids at 10 offices related to Zakir’s Islamic Research Foundation’s (IRF) in Mumbai. The NIA had filed FIR on Friday against the controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik for allegedly involving in unlawful activities and stirring hatred among religious communities through his speeches. A case was registered against under 10, 13, 18, of UAPA and section 153A of IPC. The NIA has also accused Naik of exciting Muslim youths to get involved in committing terrorist acts.
