Pervez Musharraf, Former Pakistan President has apparently advised the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif to build ties with the new United States Administration.
“This is a golden opportunity for Pakistan, the Prime Minister needs to step up and build an immediate liaison with the new (US) administration,”
And according to him, Donald Trump, the new President of the U.S. is “not well-versed with political dynamics of the region and is yet to formulate a strategy vis-a-vis South Asia.”
Musharraf, according to him India wants to maintain ‘hegemony’ in the region and wants to isolate Pakistan not only economically but also diplomatically.
It sees itself as a future economic giant not only in the region, but in the world, he told Dunya news.
Blame Game
Pervez Musharraf, Blaming India, for the internal rift between the army and the civil government, he said that India has exploited this fault-line of the Pakistani political spectra, especially the PML-N regimes.
“Indian delegates in the United States Senate are more vigilant and proactive; Pakistan needs to derive an effective strategy as well to counter the Indian narratives in the US circles”, he added.

Pervez Musharraf is a Pakistani politician and a retired four-star army general who tenured as the tenth President of Pakistan from 2001 until tendering resignation, to avoid impeachment, in 2008.
The 73 year old Musharraf, has been vocal about his concerns regarding India.
He has stated that India has always tried to escalate the tensions between the two nuclear powered nations. a claim that has garnered sharp criticism throughout the political spectrum.
Response India
After the Uri Attacks and the surgical strikes, India is not taking anything for granted. India has told Pakistan to discontinue its unprovoked firing and if it does not, India will not be taking it without answering, in the same manner.
Till recent past India has tolerated its neighbors problems and understood to achieve peace, dialogue between the two nations is a must.
It would be interesting to see how the new President Elect, Donald Trump tackles the problem brewing in the South-East.
