In his recent tweet, the billionaire has urged the government to put an end to the ban on women driving. He further said that it was an economic necessity and a very important woman right.

Although Talal holds no political posts, he often expresses interest in important political matters and rarely minces his words. Talal is the head at Kingdom Holding Co. which is one of the leading investment holding companies.
Alwaleed Talal has often spoken on the matter of women rights and advocates for it.
“Preventing a woman from driving a car is today an issue of rights similar to the one that forbade her from receiving an education or having an independent identity…They are all unjust acts by a traditional society, far more restrictive than what is lawfully allowed by the precepts of religion.”

Furthermore, he said that hiring the foreign drivers costs Saudi Arabia 3,800 Riyals (1013.15 US dollars). Talal stated that this amount accounts to sheer wastage of resources and the total sum can be used for the basic amenities especially when many families are doing with much less in the country. Alwaleed Talal further said -“what cannot be allowed is to have one segment imposing its preferences on the rest of society.”
