Rajinikanth Birthday Celebration: Rajnikanth’s birthday is no less than a Diwali in Chennai. Every year, people wait 364 days for this festival. His mass popularity and appeal is largely drawn from his mannerisms and stylised delivery of dialogue. On his birthday, fans take out motorbike rallies, ride out in chariot type trucks and Chennai is happily crowded.
He will turn 66, over morrow, on 12th of December. He has requested his fans not to celebrate his birthday and not to put up posters and banners. His manager conveyed the message through twitter.
It is believed that Thalaiva has taken this decision as a mark of respect to the former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa who passed away earlier this week due to cardiac arrest.
