Michelle Obama last speech: America’s most favourite first lady Michelle Obama bid adieu to the American masses signing off from her official post as the first lady of the states on Friday. Teary-eyed Michelle Obama told the Americans how she loved serving the country with her voice breaking.
She said that it had been “the greatest honour” of her life being their fist lady and hoped that she made the country “proud” and the entire crowd answered aloud saying ‘yes’.

She gave her speech at the event of the East Room ceremony honouring the work of the school counsellors. It was her final event that she attended as the first lady of America.
In her speech, she encouraged the students to “lead by example”, attain “higher education” and “never fear”. She further said that she will always have their back and will be there to help them whenever they need it.
Furthermore, she praised the “glorious diversity” of America and its people and said that it is not a threat to “what we are”, rather “it makes who we are”. She said that each and every citizen of the country mattered. “If you and your parents are immigrants, know that you are a part of a proud American tradition: the infusion of new cultures, talents and ideas, generation after generation, that has made us the greatest country on earth.”
“To the young people out there, do not ever let anyone make you feel like you don’t matter or like you don’t have a place in our American story because you do”, she said.
