Akhnoor Attack: Three civilians were killed during an attack by terrorists in Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) camp in the wee hours of Monday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor district.
Akhnoor Attack: Terrorists threw hand grenades before firing
As per the reports of police, terrorists first threw hand grenades at the camp followed by firing around 3 am. There were around three terrorists who sneaked into the Indian Territory from across the LoC. At 1.15 am they attacked on GREF platoon in Batla in which three labourers were killed. The area has been cordoned off and search operations are still on, said Defence Pro Manish Mehta.
Army has cordoned the entire area to find out the terrorist
After firing, terrorists have gone into hiding taking of dense wild growth in the surrounding areas and darkness. Senior police officers have rushed to the spot. The entire area has been cordoned by the army. Seeing terrorist attack in the area, school, and colleges have been closed for the day. The attack on GREP camp comes 40 days after terrorists attacked an army camp at Nagorta on November 30 last year.
On the other hand, Defence expert Qamar Agha told ANI that the world must take serious steps to eliminate terrorism as there is no doubt that Pakistani military establishment is directly responsible for training, funding and assisting the militants to infiltrate into India.
