NBA star Stephen Curry’s wife Ayesha has initiated a food delivery company she calls Gather. The company will deliver ingredients and recipes to your doorsteps on a weekly basis. Presently the site is in development stages and simply a landing page.
With a promise to deliver ingredients and recipes created by Ayesha herself, the business might be in business really soon. Ayesha said that the recipes will be inspired by the meals she cooks for her family. The area for operation is not yet clear as companies like Plated and Blue Apron delivers nationwide benefiting from fundraising and fulfilment stores might pose a challenge for this service.
Gather hasn’t disclosed any details regarding cost structure, while the competitors are selling their products for $9 – $12 per meal, achieving this might a challenge for Gather; and they might need a strong business strategy to counter the competition. Apart from this Ayesha’s celebrity status might help Gather expand and gain popularity.
Ayesha isn’t new to the cooking business. Earlier this month Ayesha was seen with the celebrity chef Micheal Mina at a popup restaurant in San Francisco. Author to a cookbook, Ayesha also handles a YouTube channel for cooking demos. Although, Gather hasn’t disclosed its area of specialisation and types of recipes it is going to lay focus on, Ayesha said that her heritage includes Chinese, Polish, African-American and Jamaican. This is enough to know the secret for her diverse cooking style.
Though launch is still pending, people can sign up for the waiting list.
