For the new feature which will be rolled out on the BHIM App, UIDAI has collaborated with NPCI and some other experts. Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Chief Executive of the Unique Identification Authority of India said on Tuesday – “Through Aadhaar, any person — large service providers or independent ones such as plumbers or carpenters, irrespective of whether they are on BHIM or not — can get payments for their services directly into their bank accounts if it is linked to Aadhaar.”
Through the BHIM app, the individual will be able to send money to another person on the mobile phone. However, the use of this feature requires the registration of the two individuals with the UPI or the government.
As of now, the app provides mainly five payment options which are – IFSC code, mobile number and few other options. Aadhar number will become the sixth option. With the coming of this app, the transactions will become largely hassle-free. However, the process of registration is a wee bit tedious.
