‘We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx had a medical problem yesterday,’ Corinne said in a statement released on behalf of the Foxx family.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” the statement reads. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Foxx’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The 55-year-old actor was most recently seen on the set of Cameron Diaz’s upcoming Netflix film Back In Action. The widely anticipated film will be Diaz’s first big-screen project since 2014’s Annie remake, which also starred Foxx.
The story of Back in Action has been kept under wraps by Netflix, but an insider told that Foxx and the Charlie’s Angels actress “had terrific chemistry” on set.
According to a Hollywood insider, Foxx had a key role in getting the actress to take on another project. She has known and worked with Jamie Foxx for years, so when the opportunity to work with him on this project arose, she chose to take it.
The actor marked his birthday in December by posting a vintage black-and-white snapshot of himself as a child and thinking back on his youth before the start of filmmaking.
