Ninth Day of Navratri: Goddess Siddhidatri is worshipped on the ninth day of Navratri. She is also the ninth manifestation of Maa Durga, the divine Shakti. Her name is made up of two words, i.e. ‘Siddhi’ that means a supernatural power or the meditative ability, and ‘Datri’ means the giver or the one who awards. The devotees of the goddess believe that she fulfil all the desires and aspirations of her followers.
Goddess Siddhidatri sits on a lotus and is depicted with four hands. She holds mace and Sudarshana Chakra in her rights hands and in her left hands, she holds lotus and shankha. She removes ignorance and also gives the knowledge to realise the things. Asura (Demons), Devata (Gods), Gandharvas, Siddhas and Yakshas surround her and worship her.

She has got the eight supernatural powers or the siddhis that are called the Anima, Garima, Ishitva, Mahima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakambya, and Vashitva.

It is believed to be auspicious to worship Goddess Siddhidatri on the ninth day of Navratri. She blesses her devotees with all their desires and aspirations. She even showers her supernatural powers or the siddhis on her followers. According to the legends, Lord Shiva began to be called the Ardha-Narishwar after Goddess Siddhidatri appeared from his left half side.
