Things are not getting any better for Samsung and all this is due to some mysterious fault in its battery because of which it suddenly catches fire or at times even explodes. Samsung is not yet done with the complete recall of the Galaxy Note 7 devices and it already looks like we might witness a second recall for Note 7. All this must have left Samsung executives wondering, when will this Note 7 issue finally resolve?
Recently, a replaced Note 7 caught fire in a plane. Now, if you go by Samsung’s word, the replaced units of Note 7 are ‘safe’ to use.
Thankfully, the plane was on ground and had not yet taken off. The passengers were quickly evacuated from the aircraft and everyone was safe. But after this incident, it is highly unlikely that Samsung might be safe. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Consumer Product Safety Commission quickly stepped in and this is definitely is not good news for Samsung.
The reason behind this is that the owner of the smartphone, Brain Green, claims that he got his Note 7 replaced on September 21. Since it was a replaced unit, he thought nothing wrong is going to happen. To his surprise, it caught fire.
Pamela Gilbert, former Executive Director, CPSC said, “If it’s the fixed phone and it started to smoke in his pocket, I’m going to guess there’ll be another recall. This is not something you want to leave hanging out there.”
This means that if it indeed turns out to be a safe unit as Green claims it is, Samsung could be in big trouble and might have to go through another recall.
Samsung earlier announced that customer safety is their top priority. If the handset is a replaced unit then the Samsung will have no other option other than to go through another recall.

Worst case scenario, the Korean tech giant might have to refund the money of all the devices or give another replacement. If that happens, Samsung’s brand image will be totally destroyed. All this because Samsung could not deal with the Note 7 issue. Let’s just hope that Samsung sorts this out as early as possible and we do not have to the news of another incident around the Note 7!
