Recently, some reports have been published which hint that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may launch early. This is directly related to the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has failed with flying colours.
Samsung is definitely not having the best time of its life right now. Since the launch, around 35 Note 7 have mysteriously exploded or caught fire across the world. This has done some serious damage to the firm’s goodwill.
Samsung has called back all the units of the Note 7 which have been sold so far. Many are calling it the biggest recall ever.
It is said that this recall is going to cost Samsung an estimated USD 1 billion.
Some airlines had banned the usage of the phone onboard. Samsung shares fell to their two-month low levels since the recall announcement. All this, along with the launch of iPhone 7 has driven things from bad to worse for Samsung.
A possible solution which suggests that Samsung Galaxy S8 may launch early
However, there is a way out. The Korean Herald reports a quote by Kim Sang-Pyo of KB Investment & Securities. According to him, Samsung Galaxy S8 may launch early.
Sang-Pyo also said that Samsung’s profit could take a serious hit if Samsung launches its next flagship device around the fall of Q1 2017.
Another analyst from Mirae Asset Securities commented that Samsung can minimize its losses due to the recall. For this, they must launch their next flagship device on an early basis. They should not put a lot of resources towards increasing the sales of Note 7.
Both these statements in a way say that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may launch early. But there are some other rumours too. For example, SamMobile has some information from sources inside the company that though Samsung is working on the S8, there are two other phones which be launched next.
Both of these are supposed to have a dual curved edge display. The names might be Dream and Dream 2. We are guessing that the screen size could be one of the differentiating factors.
A leading website, PhoneArena reports that upcoming S8 might feature a brand new Exynos 8895 processor with 70% faster image processing speed clocked at 3.0 GHz. It would also be beneficial for battery in terms of power saving.
