Salah Abdeslam Lawyers drop his defence: Salah Abdeslam is the only known survivor of the group of militants who killed 130 innocent people in Paris on Nov 13, 2015.
His lawyers Frank Berton and Sven Mary have decided to drop the case due to the prison conditions of Salah. They have further added that his reluctance to speak even about the prison conditions has made the case weak.
Salah has been kept under the solitary confinement since his capture in Bruges near Paris. Since he is kept under round-the-clock surveillance, he does not want to speak to his lawyers. They also said that he agreed to not wanting legal representation for him anymore.
Sven Mary said that due to the solitary confinement, Salah Abdeslam has not been willing to speak to them.
Salah Abdeslam Lawyers drop his defence
Say Round-the-clock surveillance has made Salah reluctant
While Frank Berton said, “We have seen him slide away. Being watched all the time, with infrared at night, that drives one crazy, and that is a consequence of a political decision.”
While other lawyers said that the video surveillance was just an excuse, Salah Abdeslam is just not willing to cooperate.
Salah Abdeslam’s brother Mohamed Abdeslam said that while having a conversation with him(Salah) in the cell he had told him that if he had not blown himself up in the attack to save people from being killed. Mohamed also said that he was not aware of his brothers being a part of Isis.
Salah Abdeslam has denied part taking in the Paris attacks. He said that he just drove others to the place where the attacks took place eventually.
The 26-year-old attacker currently awaits repatriation to France.
Till now, the charges against him have not been proved, while it is clear that he drove the other attackers to the place of incident.
