Although ADHM has been successful at the box office but it has been giving a very Mushkil time to its director Karan Johar since it seems to be a magnet for controversies in 2016. Bappi Lahiri is miffed with KJo over hurtful remarks in ADHM
Bappi Lahiri and son Bappa have taken offence over a derogatory dialogue included in the movie. In a sequence Ayan(Ranbir Kapoor) sings “Tacky O Tacky” instead of “Taaki O Taaki” which are the original lyrics to the song composed by Bappi Lahiri in the movie Himmatwala 1983. The original song had been sung by Kishore Kumar.

While commenting on the movie, Bappi Da said that the movie is so bad that it has become of little significance as of now. Also, he added that the filmmakers have honoured old music by adding some songs that are played on the iPod and the rest are made fun of. He expressed dismay over the fact that the young actors are cool with making fun of the rich music of Indian Film Cinema.
While Himmatwala actor Jeetendra commented, “I have seen the film and I don’t find anything wrong in it. Let’s all develop a sense of humour, please. It was meant in good fun and we should take it like that. Both Karan and Ranbir are children of dear friends of mine and they are both like my bachchas, too. I can never be upset with them. If I think it’s objectionable, humko sada hua bolenge and I don’t like to be called that. Can somebody please tell me the meaning of Taaki? I myself don’t know still…”
