Ae Dil Hai Mushkil release: Earlier on Friday, the Cine Owners and Exhibitors Association (COEA) had announced a ban on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Paki Actor Fawad Khan. While this heart-rending news had shattered many hopes of seeing the heartthrob Fawad Khan on the big screen, the association today reversed its statement saying that it was not a ban rather it was a request.

Well, this is baffling. Nitin Datar, Vice President of COEA said on Saturday, “After Pakistan banned our content, we decided to boycott Paki actors, technicians etc in India.” He further added, “There is no ban, it is a request”.

ADHM release Hai Mushkil – COEA
The release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan has been long-awaited by the audience but ever since the tussle worsened between India and Pak, the news of its release has been dilly dally.
While the treasurer of the association RP Anand said, “Starting today, no films with any association with Pakistan – actors, directors, music director or technicians – will be released in our theatres. This will continue till the situation improves. We cannot really give a date for when the ban ends.”
Nitin Datar has also said that their association does not hold the power to ban a film but it is requesting the members that all the movies featuring Pakistani actors, musicians, artists be boycotted in India as the Indian Public’s sentiments will be hurt if it is otherwise. He also said that owing to the worsening relations between the two nations, we cannot raise the ban lest the sentiments of Indian masses will be hurt.
Well, as the release of ADHM still loiters around the COEA, all we can say is “ADHM ka release hai mushkil”. The audience wishes for the ban to be uplifted if not entirely but at least for this movie so that they can enjoy the eagerly awited movie this Diwali.
