The company informed that the upgrading process for this new service does not require it to lay down new wires. Instead, the telco will boost last mile connectivity by using noise elimination technology, which it calls Vectorization.

In addition, the company also announced that its offer of unlimited free voice calling, which was earlier available on select broadband plans, will extend to all subscribers.

Airtel also introduced MyHome Rewards under which users will get 5GB of data each month for every other Airtel service connection, such as postpaid mobile or DTH. So if a family has two Airtel postpaid connections and a DTH subscription, they will get an additional 15GB of data added to their broadband account.

V-Fibre can be availed by new as well as existing customers.

However, Airtel says that new customers will get unlimited internet for the next three months. Further, the company notes that if customers aren’t satisfied with the new service, within a month, it will refund the modem charges and the amount will be reflected in the next bill cycle.

Ajai Puri, Director – Operations, Bharti Airtel stated, “India is witnessing an explosive growth in data usage and a lot of in-home data consumption is happening over fixed broadband that offers consistent speeds. Airtel has always innovated ahead of the curve and offered its customers best-in-class broadband technology and experience. With ‘V-Fiber’ and our national optic fiber backbone, we are all set to offer a future-ready network for tomorrow’s digitally connected homes. This solution, besides reducing our carbon footprint, offers a very quick and convenient upgrade to the customer. We are also delighted to launch our innovative myHome Rewards and unlimited free voice calling facility for our customers.”
