Apply Online for PMAY: The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna scheme initiated by the PM Narendra Modi is an initiative to help provide every Indian with the primary need, an affordable housing solution. On Wednesday, the Government of India announced that now online applications for the PMAY scheme are also accepted. This scheme is valid till 2022.
Recently the online applications have been enabled for PMAY that is a part of the digital India scheme.
The online process of application for PMAY is supposed to ease the process of applying and supposedly more and more applicants will be there now.
The four thrust areas coming under this scheme are –
- Slum Development – Reconstruction of slum areas
- Credit Linked Subsidy – Subsidy will be given for constructing new houses or maintenance of houses
- Affordable Housing in Partnership – Central Assistance will be provided per EWS house
- Subsidy for Beneficiary Led Individual House Construction – This is for individuals(of LIG group) who require Individual houses
The beneficiaries of this scheme would be women, SC, ST and the people from Economically Weaker Sections(EWS). The age of the applicants should be between 21 to 55 years.
Benefits accruing under this scheme to the EWS & LIG beneficiaries would be that the two sections will get an interest subsidy of 6.5% for any amount of loan. The scheme will be valid for a maximum period of 15 years.
How to apply online for PMAY Online –
You can apply for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Online by visiting the nearest CSC (Card Security Code) centre in the urban area. More than 60,000 CSC centres will be available for this purpose.
The online application fees will be Rs 25 and the Aadhar card will be mandatory for applying for PMAY. However, if the individual doesn’t have an Aaddhar card, the CSC will also help generate the Aadhar card for the individual.
