Launched in June 2016 Astell and Kern AK 70 music system can fit into your pockets easily. Costing at 600 dollars it has the same technology as AK100II in a small and compact body. Though it is not as thin like Apple iPOD Nano but it though recalls some of its features. With squared of edges and shoulders for its body design, the AK 70 has a good feel when held. The metal body is an additional advantage with smooth to touch glass back panel.
The signature oversized volume knob on the side fits perfectly to tweak with thumb. Like all Astell and Kern player the AK 70 uses android operating system of Google. The UI used by Astell and Kern although overshadows android to some extent, however recognizable features of android could be identified such as swipe down notification, adjusting screen brightness etc. as AK 70 features a stunning AMOLED screen. However users cannot access other features of Android in AK 70 like Google paly store also the display only shows the album cover art. There is home button just belkow the display along with hardware music control button on the side of the player.
AK 70 does support all major audio file formats along with high resolution file formats like AIFF, FLAC, WAV and also capable of playing music from DLNA 1.0 servers
This player also connectivity options in terms of Bluetooth and Wifi and comes with a 64 GB storage capacity internally which can be increased to another additional 200 GB with mirco SD card. The firmware can be updated via Wifi.
