Political interests are higher than public interest and that is what can be seen in Punjab as an ugly war can be seen among the all political parties. SAD-BJP, Congress and AAP are already engaged in the ugly war of words and actions whereas the so-called fourth front is also can be seen indulged into this is past couple of days.
In the latest development in Punjab Politics, reportedly Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Navjot Singh Sidhu seem to be mending fences after a recent falling out ahead of the 2017 assembly elections in Punjab. One of AAP’s top Punjab leaders, lawyer H S Phoolka, told TOI on Monday that he would go out of his way to ensure that Sidhu’s front joins hands with AAP for the polls. Sidhu had an extended meeting with other members of his front in Delhi over the past two days, where joining hands with AAP was discussed.
AAP Leader HS Phoolka accepted being in touch with Navjot Singh Sidhu
As per the reports from the Punjab sources, it is said to be that one of AAP’s top Punjab leaders and lawyer H S Phoolka told Times Of India on Monday that he would go out of his way to ensure that Sidhu’s front joins hands with AAP for the polls. Sidhu had an extended meeting with other members of his front in Delhi over the past two days where joining hands with AAP was discussed. But if this will come out to be true then Awaaz-e-Punjab might face harsh criticism from the opponents and even from the own workers as well.
Challenges ahead of Awaaz-e-Punjab’s alliance with AAP or Congress
But if this will come out to be true then Awaaz-e-Punjab might face harsh criticism from the opponents and even from the own workers as well. And this will also shut down the doors for the former AAP’s Punjab Convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur as he was also reportedly might form a new party in Punjab which could have merged with Awaaz-e-Punjab.
H S Phoolka said to TOI that “Though it is for my party to take a final decision, I have made the suggestion to both senior leaders of AAP as well as to those in Awaaz-e-Punjab to come together. I have kept a line open with Pargat (Singh) over a period of time. In my personal opinion, we should bring these people in to keep Badals and Amarinder at bay.”
Congress leaders also in touch with Navjot Singh Sidhu and his front leaders
Well, not only AAP but Punjab Congress is also trying hard with Navjot Sindhu to form a pre-poll alliance with the party. reportedly Senior Congress leaders are also in touch with Sidhu and are conducting meetings with him to convince him for an alliance. but Congress’s merge with Sidhu’s party looks pretty much impossible as earlier Mrs Sidhu also said that Sidhu definitely not thinks Congress of as a natural alliance party.
But anything could be possible in Politics if you have a political willingness, then nothing matters, not even one’s ego or self-respect. As in Bihar, long time rivals Lalu and Nitish joined hands to tackle BJP and they succeed. So now only time will tell what decision will Navjot Singh Sidhu’s party cum front ‘Awaaz-e-Punjab’ will take.
