The new Bajaj Pulsar NS200 (Naked Sport) will soon make a comeback in India. The company has confirmed the motorcycle’s comeback by releasing a teaser on its social media platform. The updated model of the bike has recently been snapped at a dealership. The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 was recently showcased at a dealer event in Turkey.
As a reminder, the company had discontinued the bike in 2015 in order to introduce new products like Pulsar RS200 and AS200.
Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Specifications
Engine: the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 will have the same 199.5cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled, triple spark engine that does duty in the RS 200 & AS 200. Though, this motor will be boosted with fuel injection technology. Similar to the 2017 Avenger cruiser range, Bajaj might calibrate this engine to meet the BSIV emission norms.
On the RS200, this engine produces a maximum power of 24.5bhp at 9,750rpm and 18.6Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.
As a reminder, the Pulsar 200 NS was, gradually, withdrawn from the market in early 2015. However, the company never officially suspended the production of the bike.
What changes will be made in the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 in comparison to the previous models?
The bike will share most of its features with the RS 200 such as digital instrument console, braking and suspension mechanism, etc. Similar to the RS200, the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS might come with the single-channel Anti-lock braking system (ABS) as an optional fitment.
- The 2017 model will see some cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. Coming to the safety and new features in 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200, this time around Bajaj will interestingly launch the Pulsar 200NS with FI (fuel injection) system.
- Reports suggest that the bike might also receive a new ABS variant.
- The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 receives minor design upgrades such as new body graphics, new seats, different alloy wheels and dual-tone paint job.
2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Launch Date
The new Pulsar NS200 will go on sale in India by mid-January 2017. One must note that Bajaj Auto hasn’t yet made any official comment on its arrival timeline.
2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Price In India
The ABS-equipped new model of the bike will be more expensive than the previous one. We expect it to be priced something around Rs 1.05 lakh.
Expected to be priced marginally above Rs 1 lakh, the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 will face a close competition from the new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
