Virender Sehwag: Virender Sehwag turns 37 and as he celebrates his birthday today, we decided to bring forth some interesting facts about him for his fans. Well, Aarti Ahlawat used to live in Virender Sehwag’s locality. The two often met at family functions and weddings as Aarti’s Bua(paternal aunt) was married in Sehwag’s family. And from there, they became friends.
They would talk on the phone for hours, the two called each other as “buddy”. Aarti said that Virender used to take rounds of her house. Gradually, as years passed the two fell in love. While the two had known each other for 17 years, it was after 14 years of being friends that Sehwag officially proposed to his love, Aarti Ahlawat in 2002.
Opposition from the two families
Like in every love story, their’s too had villains. Virender’s family was a conservative one and when the two families got to know about their relationship, a few relatives raised questions. But Aarti said that she never feared all this since Virender was adamant on marrying her and had made his decision very clear.
The Nuptial in 2004
Finally, the two got married on 22 April 2004. Virender Sehwag’s marriage was highly publicised and the marriage ceremony took place at their residence under high security.
The ceremony was hosted by Arun Jaitley and many prominent celebrities and other political heads attended the wedding.

It feels great to marry a person of your choice. He is a very simple man, down to earth and extremely understanding. The best part about him is that he is a very committed person. Once he promises something to somebody, he never breaks it. Moreover, whatever he says he does.
