Navratri Dandiya Songs: Dandiya Rass is the folk dance of Gujarat. It was done during Navratri festival in Gujarat earlier, but because of its rising popularity, Garba and Dandiya have become equally popular in other parts of the country as well. Garba and Dandiya are performed in honour of Goddess Durga. These dance forms are actually a mock fight between the Goddess Durga and demon Mahishasur. Dandiya has also been named as the “sword dance”.
