In a recent audit report of CAG showed a deep involvement of self-claimed India’s largest university with Punjab Government. The report surfaced by CAG that disclosed that the Punjab Government did not provide the records of the University even after repeated requests. The CAG report also reveals that most of the private universities in Punjab have got prime land under the garb of providing education to students.
Most Private universities are not following the norms of UGC
As per the CAG report, these institutions have violated all the norms in running the colleges and universities. The report has also exposed the nexus of Punjab Government with these private universities and indicated that the higher education in Punjab is embroiled in corruption.
CAG exposed the corruption of Badal Government which says five private universities are commenced academic session without following the norms of University Grant Commission (UGC).
Badal did not provide records of LUP to CAG
According to the senior officer sidelined by deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal told to a renowned news portal’s reporter that most of the private universities are running with Political money. He also told that the Mittal owner of the LPU is closed to Sukhbir Badal, the university is providing higher education to around 25000 students. This is the reason why Badal government did not provide the relevant details of LPU to CAG.

The CAG report seems to have come useful as a political tool for AAP which is leading party according to the polls survey in the forthcoming assembly elections.
