 Five Heart-wrenching incidents post demonetisation : The demonetization of old Notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 announced by the Center government on November 8 will remember us several things like countless queues of people standing at the banks. Reportedly, around hundred people died in queues due to standing whole day at the banks and ATMs just to get their own money and several other problems they faced post demonetization. It had become a matter of debate in Parliament and opposition parties condemned it. All these are a witness that a lot of people have suffered.

Here is the five heart-wrenching incidents post demonetisation which actually necessitated us to think the decision of the government of demonetization:

An old man crying inside the bank

The picture of an old man crying inside the bank in Gurugram named Nand Lal (80) – photo published in Hindustan Times had become viral during demonetization who was suffering for getting his money and gave pain to people with flesh and bone.

A 45-year-old woman returned an empty hand from the bank

A woman named Razia (45) was a construction worker in Aligarh set herself on fire on November 20, when she could not get exchanged her old currency instead of visiting banks more than five-time and died on December 5. Reports said that she had failed to exchange six notes of Rs 500 from different banks, and then she immolated herself.

Woman committed suicide in Telangana

A woman was shocked when she heard that her old notes would be scrapped. From fearing of losing her Rs 54 lakhs, a woman belonged to Telangana’s Mahabubada district committed suicide. A woman named Kandukuri Vinoda (55) hanged herself at her residence in Shenagapauram when her family members were asleep. She had sold her 12-acre agriculture land for Rs 56.40 lakh to meet expensed for the treatment of her ailing husband.

Demonetization hit tourists

Tourists came to explore India from all over the world hit by the action of Modi’s demonetization. Tourists who were carrying old notes turned to scrap overnight. They had in trouble to raise fund to go their destination. Two groups came from Germany had raised money while conducting dance and amusement show near the famous Brahma temple.
