It was a long journey for Chicago Cubs to win their first title after 108 years.

Ben Zobrist, hit a go-ahead double in the 10 innings of the match which was interrupted by rain. Chicago Cubs won the match by a narrow margin of 8-7. It was a nail biting finish on Thursday evening.
Aroldis Chapman, also known as all star closer lost a three run lead with two outs in eighth when a tying homer was hit by Rajai Davis. Cubs who were lagging behind, came back strongly and scored twice before the top of the 10th. The match was hit by 17 minute rain delay. Rajai Davis got an RBI single with two outs out of three in the bottom half but Mike Montgomery got the final out.
The most happiest man, Joe Maddon
Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon was extremely happy with the performance of his team. It was like a rain of joy after a long drought that hit the team and forfeited them to win the title. Cleveland Indians were looking for their first championship since 1948 but they lost the two games at their home.

Chicago Cubs were counted as a strong contender to win the World Series Championship and they topped the tables with 103 wins this season. It was a festive time for the Chicago fans as the team ended the long wait to wear the crown of the champion.
