Congress and TMC leaders conducted a meeting on Monday to chalk out a joint fight during the winter session of parliament starting on November16 demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 100 notes by the Modi government.

The opposition sources reveal said that the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Gulam Nabi Azad, and congress leader in Lok Sabah Mallikarun Kharge, would be meeting the TMC leader in the lower house, Sudip Bandopadhyay, ahead of an all-party meeting arranged by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
Mamta Banerjee urges all parties to unite against BJP
Trinamool congress (TMC) leader Derek O’Brien is also likely to be present. On the other hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had Sunday spoken to congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury including several other opposition leaders to unite fight against the demonetization move of the government.
Parties accused government saying that the demonetization is just a harassment of the public
Congress leaders too had reached out to several parties, including TMC to chalk out a joint plan ahead of the winter session of the Parliament. Besides the Congress and TMC, other opposition parties such as CMP, CPI, SP and BPP have targeted the government, accusing it of taking a decision without giving time and proper planning, leading to harassment of the public.
