Congress condemned the attack on Union Minister Babul Supriyo who was attacked with bricks stones allegedly by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers in Asansol on Tuesday when he was on his way to a police station against the arrest of some BJP workers. The congress party on Thursday emphasized that is the main tactics for all political parties except Congress in West Bengal.
Political parties have to avoid these tactics
Congress leader PC Chacko told ANI, A political party should fight on an ideological ground, not with strong arm methods of violence. Unfortunately, we see violence is the main tactics for all political parties except Congress in West Bengal. He further said that this will be the slur on the name of the state and I hope it is better theses parties avoid doing these kinds of tactics to settle political course.
BJP worker beaten by TMC crowd
On the other hand, a video footage of the incident that has been public shows a violent mob attacking Suprioy group. During the fray, one of the BJP party workers was also beaten and his clothes torn out. The crowd of TMC workers hurled stones on BJP workers in presence of Police officials.
I was going to police station to secure the release of some of my party people suddenly I was hit with bricks in which windowpanes of my car were damaged by TMC workers, Supriyo, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, alleged. The crowd also showed black flags but I could not understand why the police allow the mob to come near my car, he added.
