Am concerned, possibly convinced, more than 24hrs after the travel ban was imposed that govt is planning to take further, uglier actions.

Apparently, Nawaz Sharif had ordered on Monday that strict actions be taken against the publishers of the article for posting a fabricated news.
Amid the ever-rising tensions and worsening political scenario in Pakistan, America has shown concern over the safety and freedom of the press and journalists in Pakistan.
“We’re concerned about any efforts to limit press freedom or the ability of journalists to conduct their very, very important work.”
–John Kirby, US Department Spokesperson
While he added that the US Government has had talks with the Pak Government over this issue many times by now since they’re concerned about the security of journalists there.
In an earlier tweet, Almeida had expressed discontent over being treated as a threat to Pakistan.
Puzzled, saddened. Had no intention of going anywhere; this is my home. Pakistan.

Cyril Almeida’s name has been put on the exit control list.
Why one article has fetched so much limelight
One question that arises after all this is that what is so peculiar about Cyril’s article that it has got so much attention.
While it is also being rumoured that Nawaz Sharif might have done it to expose the truth about the tussle between the military and the civilians and to bring forth the fact that he has a little or no role to play in the tussle.
The other story is that to expose the weak position of Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan and to unveil the fact about masses having little faith in him might be just another reason for leaking the story.
In the end, it is the civilians who’ll decide whether its Sharif or the military that is leading Pakistan towards isolation.
