Dharmendra Singh a scribe of Dainik Bhaskar was shot dead in Rohtas of Bihar in wee hours on Saturday by unknown assailants for publishing articles on illegal stone chips units, the police said. Singh was having a tea at a roadside stall at his Amra tola village where he was shot by some unidentified people, sub-divisional police officer Alok Ranjan said.
Three bike-borne assailants opened fire on him
The three bike-borne assailants pushed the bullet into his stomach. The local immediately rushed him to the Sadar hospital in Sasaram, where scribe received primary treatment and then referred to Varanasi; Singh succumbed to injuries on his way to Varanasi. He was survived by his wife and a son. The SDPO said an investigation is on in the murder case. The murder of scribe is suspected linked to illegal quarrying business in Rohtas district. Accordingly, the same incident had happened earlier with a leading vernacular daily scribe Rajdeo Ranjan who was also shot dead by unknown people at Siwan in the same district in May last year, which sent shockwaves across the nation
This is the third incident of shot dead with scribe in last four month
A case has been registered and the police is investigating to nab the criminals. This is the third such incident in four months. Earlier a TV news channel journalist was allegedly shot dead on October this year by motorcycle-bone criminals in Dheena area in Uttar Pradesh.
