When The Jungle Book was revived into a live action movie, the audience were stunned. The brain of Jon Favreau who possesses such an exceptional talent was behind the movie. Even the industry got shocked by the photorealistic reboot. The movie was packed with entertainment, action, and everyone loved it which counted to numbers of $966 million dollars worldwide. After the release, a sequel to The Jungle Book was immediately announced. As these kinds of movies take the time to get release dates. Then, the studios astonished everyone with the news that, Jon Favreau will be directing a live-action, Disney Lion King. That news just amazed everybody.
Disney Lion King may release ahead of The Jungle Book 2
So, Disney Lion King will happen and it may get a release date ahead of The Jungle Book sequel. During a press day of The Jungle Book promotion, Robert Legato, who is a two-time Oscar winner and has worked on visual effects for several movies like Avatar, Hugo and etcetera told CinemaBlend that, Disney Lion King may happen before The Jungle Book 2. He said, “Yeah, actually, I am. … It’s the very next one [we’re doing]. We’ve already started the plans, and all of the various things, and the updates to the various ways that we filmed The Jungle Book, to add to and extend the art form a little bit more in Lion King, which is going to be another live-action-looking movie.”
Animal Characters were more appealing
This means, if The Jungle Book can be made into a live action film with one human character than Disney Lion King is also possible. Moreover, the film has few scenes where one human character (Neel Sethi) is present, while most of the movie is centralized around the animal characters and these characters were enough to enthrall the audience. Now Legato has confirmed that Disney Lion King will happen before The Jungle Book. It will be quite intriguing to know when the release dates for the movie is announced.
Disney working on Beauty and the Beast movie
Although, there is no news about Disney Lion King filming schedule, but what we know is that the planning schedule for this movie is already in process. If this movie is brought to the screens, then it will be cheesecake for fans because of the huge following across the globe. Currently, Disney is concentrating on Beauty and the Beast which will release on March 17, 2017. Disney has also planned Mulan and it will hit the screens on November 2, 2018.
