Donald Trump Shinzo Abe Meeting: “The talks made me feel sure that we can build a relationship of trust”, said Shinzo Abe after meeting with Donald Trump.
Earlier Donald Trump had said in his campaign that he will make the allies of America pay more in order to get help from it. Commenting on Japan he had said that it should acquire its own weapons while he showed disinterest in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe had a meeting with Donald Trump to discuss the thrust areas and the relation between the two countries about which Donald Trump had remarked in his campaign.
The unofficial meeting was held at the Trump towers. Shinzo Abe was convinced of the maintenance of good relations between the two countries, after having a word with the newly elect US President.
The details of the meeting were not disclosed since it was an unofficial meeting. Abe called Donald Trump a “trustworthy leader” further saying that he would meet with Trump soon again “at a convenient time to cover a wider area in greater depth.”
He said that the meeting was held in a “warm environment” and was a “candid” one.
Reportedly, gifts were also exchanged between the two after the meeting.
