The finance ministry of India has said on Friday that it doesn’t plan to seal the bank lockers. It has also brushed away the rumors claiming that the new Rs 2000 note loses its color when run through water.

The tweet by the official twitter handle of the Finance Ministry said, “Myth: Next move is to seal bank lockers and confiscate gold, diamonds, and jewelry. Reality: This is baseless. There is no proposal to seal bank lockers and confiscate the jewelry.”( विमुद्रीकरण पर भ्रम टूटा )
Further commenting on the fake note rumors, the ministry said that a safety feature has been introduced in the new notes of Rs 2000 called ‘intaglio’.
“To identify a genuine note when you rub it against a cloth, a turbo-electric effect is generated and it is due to this that the note’s ink gets transferred onto the cloth”, the ministry said.
A meeting was also held chaired by PM Modi in which Arun Jaitley(Finance Minister), Venkaiah Naidu((Urban Development Minister) and Ananth Kumar(Parliamentary Affairs Minister) were present. The meeting was held to discuss the government’s strategy in the parliament.
Also, in the Lok Sabha, a protest was staged by the Congress and other opposition parties against PM Modi criticising him for the demonetisation move. To which Ananth Kumar said that the entire nation was with the PM in this move. This led to slogans being raised by the opposition against PM. The session was finally adjourned by House Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
