Huawei unveiled its new smartphone Huawei Honor 6X last week at CES 2017. While the smartphone is already up for sale in the US, the Chinese handset manufacturer recently revealed that it will launch the device in India on January 24, 2017. Further revealing the information regarding the availability, sources familiar to the development have told a tech portal that – “Huawei Honor 6X will be Amazon exclusive.”
Earlier, during the Press conference at the CES 2017, Huawei also revealed that it will bring in Android Nougat update for the device sometime in Q2 2017. Apart from that, the new update will also bring Huawei’s new EMUI 5.0 which was first launched with Mate 9 last year. Honor 6X is the successor of company’s previous popular mid-range device, the Honor 5X.
Huawei Honor 6X Specifications:
Display: Huawei Honor 6X comes with a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass protection.
Processor and Software: It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI v4.1 on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core (4 cores at 2.1GHz + 4 cores at 1.7GHz) chipset with Mali-T830MP2 GPU.
The Device will be made available in two different RAM/Storage Variants. The one paired with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and the other one with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. However, talking about the expandable storage, in both the variants, the internal storage is expandable via microSD card.
Camera: Coming to the optics, which is the highlight of this device, the Honor 6X sports a dual-camera set up at the back with a combination of a 12-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. The set up comes with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), LED flash etc. At the front, there is an 8-megapxel sensor for selfies.
However, the dual rear camera setup of this device looks pretty much identical to the HTC One M8. The set up lets you dig into and play with shallow depth of field and one can change the focus of an image post clicking it.
Battery: The Huawei Honor 6X is powered by a 3340 mAh battery inside.
Talking about the price, the device is expected to start its pricing from approximately Rs 15,000 for the prior variant with 3GB RAM and 32Gb Storage and approximately Rs 17,000 for the latter. And just for a recall, the device will be unveiled here in India on January 24, 2017.
