Finally, there is an official word on Huawei Honor 8 launch in India! The company has announced that they will be launching the Honor in October. The Honor 8 is quite similar to the Honor P9 which was launched in India some time back. It borrows the camera technology (dual-camera) from the P9. However, it will probably be priced lesser than the P9. The company has not announced the price yet.
The company has not yet confirmed the specifications for the variants they are going to launch in India. We do know about the specifications that of the US variants. Let us take a look at them now, shall we?
It sports a 5.2-inches LTPS screen, Full HD with 423ppi.
Huawei has its own octa-core Kirin 950 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz.
It comes with 4 GB of RAM.
The Honor 8 has 32 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB via SD card.
Its camera is what makes this phone really impressive. It has a 12 MP dual-camera setup on the rear. One camera shoots in monochrome while the other shoots in colour, together they are quite spectacular. It even has an 8 MP front camera with panoramic selfie support.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
For communication, it has Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, GPS and supports USB Type-C 1.0. However, it does not have a radio.
It has fast charging which gives it 47% power in 30 mins. All thanks to Smart Power 4.0. Further, it even flaunts a Fingerprint scanner. It takes 0.4 seconds to recognize your print so we can call it really fast.
A 3000 mAh non-removable lithium-polymer battery powers this little beast.
We can say that the Honor 8 is Huawei’s gift to India as they complete their two years in the nation.
A spokesperson for Huawei said, “India is a crucial market for Huawei. The company will be strengthening its aftersales services in India with over 200 service centres, including more than 30 exclusive Huawei service centres in India. Huawei Consumer Business Group will also expand its distribution network by partnering with more than 50,000 retail outlets by the end of 2016. The company will also manufacture the first ‘Make in India’ Honor smartphones model starting the first week of October 2016.”
One thing to be kept in mind is that there might a slight variation in the model to be launched in the Indian subcontinent. However, it will not be a major difference. Stay tuned for updates on the matter!
