There still surrounds a lot of mystery around what Hyperloop is and what the whole new technology is all about. Nobody is sure about its costing, its pros and cons and some of us don’t even know what it is. So, we’ll get back to basics and begin from the beginning.
Hyperloop is an LA based startup, which is meant to speed up by folds the time it takes to travel from one place to another. It is aimed at transporting passengers at very high speeds into capsules that will travel inside of tubes. When put into practice, Hyperloop will revolutionize our transport systems for ever. At least that’s what it has started to promise us, already.
In a new study that was released today morning, Hyperloop said that the tube connecting Stockholm, Sweden, and Helsinki, Finland, will successfully transform a 300 miles journey into a just 28 minutes of a ride. For comparison, it takes us about 3.5 hours to cover the same distance in an airplane or the whole night in a ferry.
They also say that it’ll take them $21 billion to build the complete setup. It includes making of the world’s longest marine tunnels passing through the Aland archipelago, Baltic Sea.
The project is also estimated to generate about $969 million -$1.1 million in ticket sales every year, assuming that about 42.7 million passengers ride it. At the same time, it will be built at 50-60% of what it will cost to build a high speed railway system. We hope everything soon comes into reality.
