India defeats England: It was a terrific day for the host as India defeats England by Eight wickets, ending the match in four days. This was a sheer sense of domination from the Indian side who kept the England batsman on toes right from the beginning. The contribution came from every player, be it a batsman, bowler or fielder. India received a huge handout in form from their wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel who scored runs in both the innings. Even Jayant Yadav played excellent cricket to help his team winning the third test match at I.S Bindra cricket stadium, Mohali.
Hameed played a stupendous knock for England
The morning session started, when Gareth Batty was adjudged Leg before wicket, he went back to the pavilion without giving any trouble to the scoreboard. The England opener, Hameed who came at number 8 stood the ground and formed an excellent partnership with Chris Woakes after Josh Butler got out on 18 runs. Hameed started the things pretty slow giving Woakes all the opportunity to score. Once he had his eyes on the ball, Hasib Hameed played a stable innings and added 55 runs to his personal kitty. Chris Woakes was cleaned by Mohammad Shami whose bouncer was good enough to trouble all-rounder in his crease. It was a great show by bowlers because of which India defeats England by eight wickets. The rest of tail enders were taken off by the Indian bowlers in few minutes, ending England’s second innings on 236 runs.
Parthiv Patel innings was all on board through which India defeated England
India was given a final target of 103 runs which was very much achievable, But it was a poor start from Indian openers. Murali Vijay got out early on naught. Cheteshwar Pujara then held on together with Parthiv Patel who scored the majority of the runs during the winning chase. Parthiv powered eleven boundaries and one six during his 67 runs knock. The partnership between the two was going strong when Pujara got out at the score of 88. But it was mere honors to be done as India won the match by 8 wickets with Virat Kohli not out on 6 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja, Man of the Match
Ravindra Jadeja was the Man of the Match, who during the presentation said, “Obviously very happy with my performance, especially with the bat. I knew the ball was not turning. I took my time. I knew if I play 40-50 balls, I could play a big innings.” India will play their fourth test match against England on December 8 in Mumbai.
