India might pull out from featuring in the ICC Champions trophy Next year in England due to BCCI’s dispute with the International Body.
Yes, these kind of news reports are coming out that Indian Cricket Team might withdraw its participation in the Champions Trophy next year in England. Whereas ICC is giving this competition too much of it, what if the defending Champions will not feature in the champions trophy. ICC will have to face big losses in this,
Why will Indian Cricket Team not feature in ICC Champions trophy?
Actually, these speculations are based on the BCCI’s dispute with ICC. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is miffed with International cricket council (ICC) after not being called for ICC Finance Committee meeting in Finance. And that too at a time, when Indian Shashank Manohar is heading the ICC. This Dispute between ICC and BCCI is making headlines on Wednesday.
Earlier, there was a conflict over the budget allocation for major ICC events. ICC proposed an approximate budget of $ 135 million for organising the Champions Trophy 2017 in the United Kingdom. BCCI has expressed its concerns about the budget that has been allotted as it is three times of that of $ 45 million that was allocated on to the BCCI for conducting the World T20 2016 in India.
What BCCI Secretary said in his warning to ICC?
BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke said that the board is humiliated after the exclusion from the finance committee meeting. “These are the committees where all the important decisions are taken — finance, commerce, and chief executives committee; India not having a representative (in those committees) is a humiliation for us.”
He also added saying “We will tell the ICC, ‘either you amend this or we will decide what to do to protect India’s cricket interests globally’. It could be anything. We may even not play the Champions Trophy. Better sense may prevail, and we may not reach that stage at all. But there are so many options.”
Well, if Indian team will not participate in the Champions trophy, this will be a great disappointment for BCCI and also ICC has to bear losses of it. So the better option is that if BCCI should talk to ICC and solve out the dispute.
