“Jayalalithaa is Breathing On Her Own and Could be Discharged Any Day”: AIADMK

The AIADMK Chief J Jayalalithaa was been said to be fit and responding well, but she was continuously been kept in the ICCU. This has raised many of the questions among the well-wishers of Jayalalithaa. And to refuse any new feud among the people of Tamilnadu, the AIADMK has issued a statement on Ammaโ€™s health.

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(AIADMK) on Thursday said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is breathing โ€œon her ownโ€, and that she is likely to leave hospital โ€œany day.โ€

This came out as a great relief to the people of Tamilnadu and well-wishers of Jayalalithaa. The ruling party said that her lung infection has been cured and that she has been undergoing physiotherapy. Party spokesperson C Ponnaiyyan said “Her vitals and all health parameters are โ€œexcellentโ€. โ€œShe is having food by herself, she is sitting, she is able to talk freely… she is cheerful,โ€ he said.

Earlier this week, the chief minister hadย releasedย her first statement after being admitted to Apollo Hospital, Chennai, on September 22. In a two-page statement, she said he had โ€œtaken a rebirthโ€ and thanked AIADMK members and the public for their support.

Jayalalithaaโ€™s letter came days before theย electionsย and by-elections in Aravakurichi, Thanjavur, Tirupparankunram and Nellithope in Puducherry, which are scheduled for November 19.

The AIADMK leader said she could not campaign personally, but that her โ€mind and heartโ€ were with the people. โ€I am awaiting the news of partyโ€™s victory in all the constituencies,โ€ she said, expressing โ€œanguishโ€ over theย suicides committed by party workers since her hospitalisation.

The Tamil Nadu chief ministerโ€™sย healthย has been a matter of concern for supporters despiteย assurancesย from Apollo that she was recovering well. Doctors from the United Kingdom and Delhiโ€™s All India Institute of Medical Sciences had been flown to Chennai to help with her treatment.
