BJP member Subhash Deshmukh: Rs 91.5 lakh have been seized from BJP’s Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Subhash Deshmukh’s car. The notes were of rupees 1000 denomination that is no more a legal tender today. The money was seized from Omerga town of Osmanabad district, Maharashtra.

The amount was recovered by the vigilance team that was employed to deter the illegal practices to take place ahead of the Municipal Committee elections to be held there. A case has been filed at the Omerga Police Station regarding this.
The driver has been arrested by the team. The vehicle belonged to the Lok Mangal Group from Solah that was controlled by Deshmukh.
The vigilance team had searched the vehicle of the Minister which was with his driver at that time. When the money was seized from the vehicle, the driver was questioned and was asked to produce related documents proving the source of the amount recovered which he failed to do. He also could not provide a satisfactory explanation.
The opposition Congress party have been alleging that the vehicle belonged to Subhash Deshmukh. They also said that strict actions should be taken against him for cash hoarding. Meanwhile, the NCP Spokesperson said that the maximum amount of black money is held by the BJP members themselves.
