A few hours after his child was born, the happy father announced that the couple’s baby was born on Friday, January 13.
At a celebratory dinner, Legend, 43, announced to the audience that they had just welcomed “the little baby this morning.”
“What a blessed day,” he added.
Although he “didn’t get a lot of sleep,” the singer continued, he “feels energized” following having “a lot of time” at the hospital.
The baby news was promptly shared on social media by guests of the special celebration.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen lost their baby in a devastating pregnancy loss in October 2020, which led to the birth of their child. The couple already has a son named Miles Theodore, who is 4½, and a daughter named Luna Simone, who is 6½.
“We’re all excited, and, you know, my kids are old enough to really understand what’s going on, so they’re really looking forward to meeting a new sibling. Additionally, I believe they’ll do well as big brothers and sisters.”

When Legend appeared in the music video for his single “Stereo” in 2006, director Nabil Elderkin introduced him to model Chrissy Teigen. They got married on September 14, 2013, in Como, Italy, after getting engaged in December 2011.
