Indian Entrance Examinations for Teachers: which is commonly known as TET (Teachers Eligibility Test). The State and the Central Government, both governing bodies can conduct the test.The exam is based on National Curriculum Framework. All graduates, including B.A, B.Sc, B.Com etc. are eligible to take the test. All B.Ed. graduates need to pass this exam in order to work as a teacher. Most States conduct their own TET. The test is mandatory for getting teaching jobs in Government schools from Class 1 to Class 8.
There are two set of Papers that are conducted, Paper 1 is meant for teachers opting to teach Class 1 to Class 5 and Paper 2 for Class 6 to Class 8. The test is conducted in order to fulfil and achieve the goals of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act.
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Kerala successfully conducted the recruitment examination for the year 2016. Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) for Category I & Category II posts on 5th November. A large number of eligible and interested candidates applied and appeared for the recruitment exam. Teachers Eligibility Test was introduced by the Government of India in order to improve standards in teaching. It was held for the first time in 2011.For teachers that are already working, they are supposed to clear the exam in two years time period.
