Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune: The 20th match of IPL season 9 is won by the Kolkata Knight Riders by 2 wickets.The match played between Rising Pune Supergiants vs Kolkata Knight Riders where earlier in the game, Rising Pune Supergiants won the toss and elected to bat.
It was a very tough chase were all batsmen like Gambhir, Uthappa and others were out very early. The man of the match goes to Suryakumar Yadav for his great performance scoring 60 runs in 49 balls.
In the first innings, Rising Pune Supergiants were on strike and enters Rahane and du Plessis on the crease. The batsmen handle the first strike very well but until then on 3rd over, Shakib Al Hasan have bowled to du Plessis and enters smith. Then both Rahane and Smith had good strikes but until on 12th over on Sathish ball, Smith is run out. And also, T Perera is bowled out on 14th over balled by Sathish and enters Albie Morkel. Soon, Rahane had his half century on 15th over but then on 17th over on Naraine balls, Rahane is bowled out. Then even Morkel is also bowled out on Yadav ball. Finally enters MS dhoni and in the last over Dhoni scores 23 runs very quickly with 2 fours and one sixes led the team scores to 160 runs for 5 wickets.
In the second innings, KKR had a very bad starting with Uthappa lbw out and duck. Enters S Yadav, Gambhir is on strike but on the 2nd over balled Morkel Gambhir is run out. Enters Shakib al Hasan, now the match is handled by both the batsmen until on 6th over Shakib was bowled out on Bhatia ball. Enters Yusuf Pathan, ends of 12th over Suryakumar Yadav had his half century. Ends of 13th overs and the score reached 110 runs. Y Pathan on strike but out as lbw on Bhatia ball, enters Andrew Russell. 15th over, Suryakumar Yadav is also lbw out on Murugan Ashwin ball. Now enters Sathish, Russell is on strike and pushed the score to nearly winning until then on 17th over was out on T Perera ball and enters Piyush Chawla. 18th over balled by Morkel, Sathish is bowled out and enters Umesh Yadav. Finally Umesh Yadav with a six led the team win the match by 2 wickets.
