Some time back, reports started surfacing which said that BlackBerry was working on three Android smartphones. One of them was launched a couple of months back in the form of DTEK50. Now, it seems like BlackBerry is gearing up for the launch of BlackBerry DTEK60 – its successor on October 25.
Earlier, there were a few whispers that BlackBerry is working on its new flagship device which had been codenamed Argon. Though there was not much known about Argon, now we do have some information which provides us the hint as to what we can expect from the Canadian smartphone company.
According to CrackBerry, the next release by BlackBerry is going to be the successor of the DTEK50. Namely, DTEK60. It may be based on the Alcatel Idol Pro 4. Initially, BlackBerry might rebrand a few powerful phones from Alcatel or TCL in order to get a head start.
All you need to know before the launch of BlackBerry DTEK60
Display
It might feature a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It will be a complete touch screen phone. Maybe, BlackBerry is saving the keyboard for its own phones.
Processor & Memory
The phone will be powered by a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. One might also see 4 GB of RAM coupled with 32 GB internal storage.
Battery
The battery could be a decent non-removable 3000 mAh with USB Type-C.
Camera
For the photography lovers, this phone might become a must have because the CrackBerry reports suggest that the phone could flaunt a 16 MP camera on the rear along with an 8MP camera on the front.
Price and availability
The word on the street says it might cost somewhere around $600-$700 in the US. This means it might cost anywhere around Rs. 40,000-45,000 in India. It probably will be available from October 25, just a while before the holiday season begins in the US.
Other things worth a mention would be Quick Charge, scratch-resistant screen and a sharp 534ppi. A fingerprint scanner would be yet another add-on alongside a convenience key. It will also feature dual firing speakers.
We all know what BlackBerry is known for – unmatched security. BlackBerry had advertised its DTEK50 as well as Priv as the most secure devices. It won’t be wrong to assume that the launch of BlackBerry DTEK60 might bring the most secure(est) smartphone of them all with the latest security measures as well as support from BlackBerry Enterprise Security.
