Maharashtra BMC Election 2017: People from Mumbai are going to cast their votes on Tuesday for BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation BMC election 2017. It is a country’s richest civic body for which the main two players and former alliance parties BJP and Shiv Sena are giving a fight to each other on polls’ battlefield.
Maharashtra BMC Election 2017: result will announce on February 23
The result of Maharashtra BMC Election 2017 will be declared on February 23. A total number of seats are 227 and 13 major political parties contesting BMC polls are Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, Indian National Congress (INC), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Samajwadi Party, BSP and others will contest in this civic body polls. A total 2,275 candidates are contesting in the polls, which include 1,1190males, 1,084 females and one transgender.
More than 2.5 lakh security personnel have been deployed
Around 92 lakh people will cast their votes in megapolis and there will be 7,304 polling stations. Talking about Pune, 1,090 candidates are in the battle for Pune Municipal Corporation PMC elections. 821 candidates are in the fray for Nashik Municipal corporations elections.
The 10 municipal corporations include Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Thane Municipal Corporation, Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, Pune Municipal Corporation, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Solapur Municipal Corporation, Nashik Municipal Corporation, Akola Municipal Corporation, Amravati Municipal Corporation and Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The voting is set to begin at 7.30 am. A total 43,160 polling booth have been set up and 2.6 lakh election staff and police personnel have been deployed.
