Micromax expects the new range of phones to increase the rate of transition of feature phone users to smartphones, which has declined over the last few quarters due to a high cost of smartphones, perceived the higher cost of data usage on smartphones and lack of use cases.
The new range, which is Micromax’s second such launch in entire 2016, will be made locally from this month and will be exported to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other countries. Sales of the phone, have already begun in Russia.
