Mumbai: A massive fire broke out in the basement of Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital located in Mumbai’s Perel. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot at the hospital. There was smoke coming out of the basement of the hospital seen by someone and called a fire department.
BMC officials and police officials were at the spot
On the other hand, initial reports said that the fire was at the nearby Wadia children’s Hospital, it was later confirmed to be Tata. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s BMC disaster management cell ensured that the call was received at 9.20 am following which fire tenders and police officials rushed to the spot. BMC officials are still present there.

“We received a call a little after 9 am and rushed to the spot. Within no time, we had started carrying out rescue operations,” a fire brigade official said.
A spokesperson from TMC confirmed the news of the fire but said that it was in the basement area, from where patients are. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was near the stock of medicines in the basement. Four engine and for tankers were at the sport and the fire-fighting operations were on.
