Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai April 9: The First match of IPL 2016 season 9 is taken over by the Rising Pune Supergiants by 9 wickets. Ajinkya Rahane holds the title of Man of the Match.
At first, the Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat, where Rohit Sharma captain of the team could not be made it through to make a good score for the team. They can score the target of only 121 runs and Harbhajan as the last batsman have to pull the run to a good level.
But though 121 runs is not so the tough target for the Rising Pune Supergiants. Rahane with his first Half has led the team to win the first match. Not only the batsman but the bowlers too did a great job in the field and Ishant Sharma and Mitchell took 2 wickets each and other 1 wickets each by RP Singh, Rajat Bhatia, Murugan Ashwin and Ravichandran Ashwin.
In the pricing event, Skipper Rohit Sharma of Mumbai commented on the good pitch of the ground and winning the toss, while he has expressed that the batting is not going well on the ground and the target set was easier for the Pune. He also claimed that this is a good memory for them to go Kolkata for the next match and said They have won 2 tournaments so no need to panic.
And also, MS Dhoni skipper of the team Pune has praised the baller especially Ishant and also the batsman Rahane whom he praised for putting the team to the winning. Now the Man of the match was awarded to Ajinkya Rahane who have score 66 Run in 44 balls.
