The Railway Minister India has announced that seven railway projects worth Rs 2000 crore will be initiated in Punjab for which the foundation stone has been laid by the minister. Apart from this, a 200 kph fast train will also be set up Punjab.

“The country will soon see the launch of the 200 km per hour speed train. This train will also be given to Punjab when it starts operation in the country.”

The foundation stone was laid at the Rajpura-Bathinda railway line, CM of Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal was present at the event. He also said that at the 350th Birth Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a special train will be launched for the convenience of Sangat traveling to Patna Sahib.
Apart from this, 16 limited height subways at various railway locations, Mansa-Bathinda double rail line, a new station at Beas, a new running room at Ludhiana railway station, Food plaza at Ferozepur railway station and water vending machines at the Bathinda railway station will be set up.
Ahead of the Punjab elections, these plans have been announced by the Railway Minister including an increment in the annual rail budget for Punjab by Rs 700 crores.
