Robin Hood: Origins: Ever since we were born, the folks and fairy tales of Robin Hood has been part of our life. Be it in books or on screen, children always loved the famous character. Robin Hood appeared number of times on screen sometimes in movies and rest in TV.
Recreating The Hero
Alright, Stage plays can’t be missed too! If you remember the last time we saw Robin Hood movie was in 2010 where Russell Crowe played the part of fairy tale hero battling the French army who came to conquer England. Over the period of time it appeared in ABC hit series and fairy tale drama, Once Upon A Time played by Sean Maguire. The character is set to make his return on big screen as Robin Hood: Origins.
Taron Egerton to play the lead
This time the character will be much younger compared to its earlier counterparts. It is learnt that Taron Egerton (If you remember Eggsy from the movie Kingsman: The Secret Service) will play the lead role. Robin Hood: Origins was originally slated to release much earlier and also the filming would have started in February this year. Due to Taron Egerton commitments for the next Kingsman: The Golden Circle, filming was pushed further so that he can complete his assignments.
Tough Enough to compete
Production houses Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have joined hands to produce the project and have officially claimed a release date for the epic adventure. Deadline has confirmed that Robin Hood: Origins is set to hit the screens on March 23, 2018. The movie will release along with the live action/animated Peter Rabbit. But there is nothing to worry as both the movies will have different concepts so it is going to be a peaceful journey for the two. The only threat that is looming is Tomb Raider Reboot (starring Alicia Vikander) which will be in screens a week earlier than Robin Hood: Origins. A week later it will have another competition with Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One adaptation.
Sensible Plot
Robin Hood: Origins story has been kept bit edgier comparing the ones we saw in the previous movies. The plot begins with, Robin Hood returns from a battle field to Sherwood Forest only to find that people of England are facing the wrath under the rule of corrupt king. Robin Hood: Origins was designed by Joby Harold who co-wrote director Guy Ritchie’s upcoming King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, another legendary tale which will have a sensible story line.
New Director on the block
Robin Hood: Origins will be directed by Otto Barthurst who is known for working more on TV series. His experience with TV is more as compared to films. He has directed episodes of TV series like Black Mirror and Peaky Blinders. No doubt, his previous work is laudable and directing movies is bit easier than TV shows. The producers have done a great job by bringing him behind the camera because he can put more creativity into his direction.
Oscar winner Jamie Foxx as Little John, Taron as Robin Hood, Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey) as Will Scarlett and Eve Hewson (The Knick) as Maid Marian will feature in Robin Hood: Origins. The film has already given the alarms that it going to be one of the anticipating movies of 2018.
The film lovers are already happy about their fairy tale hero and producers are trying their every level best to make Robin Hood: Origins, the most promising movie of 2018.
