Senior Bureaucrat, Bal Krishan Bansal committed suicide along with his son in Madhu Vihar residence, Delhi, this morning. He had been arrested in July on corruption charges. Their dead bodies were recovered by the police when the domestic help reported the incident to the police.
“We have recovered their dead bodies and sent the district forensic team to examine the spot.”, the police officer said.
Suicide notes and copies of them were placed in different rooms, say the police. Family photos were attached to every note.
BK Bansal was the Director General in the Corporate affairs Ministry. He was arrested on July 17 this year on the charges of taking a bribe of Rs. 9 lakh from a pharma company. The company wanted to evade investigation for doing illegal business activities.
BK Bansal’s wife Satyabala (58) and daughter Neha (28) were found hanging in separate rooms at Neelkanth apartments after the second raid of CBI after Bansal’s arrest. Similar notes were found in both rooms mentioning harassment by CBI.
It is stated that BK Bansal had been handling all the matters of the pharma company and had allegedly asked for Rs 20 lakh for this.
After an investigation, Rs 60 lakh cash, 20 property papers and details of 60 bank accounts were found at various locations.
